assignment #11

       Looking at my first 2 graded assignments in this class I see a free errors that keep repeating in my papers. One error I keep making is not using spell check when I get done writing my papers.sometimes it slip my mind and that i re read so many time I feel like I caught all my errors. The second error I make is I don't not write in complete sentences most of the time. I write a lot of fragment and don't catch them because at the time they sound so right, like they belong their. Another error I make is get off the subject. I can be writing about animals then by the end of the paper in on an whole different subject. I turn any paper very personal. I give a million personal examples and stories about how the subject relates to me or someone I know. I am not saying personal experience isn't good. Last but not least I seem to always make this error no matter what I'm writing about. I never can write an correct thesis. No matter what the topic is or how much information I look up writing an thesis statement I very challenging to me.
       Their are ways to avoid/solve these problem. I can use spell check more offend or get a few people besides my professor and peer to read over my paper a few times. Stop being in a rush or waiting later to do my paper. Theirs not to many way to avoid fragments but practices writing in complete sentences. To avoid get off topic i can outlet my reading or research with the main topics that should and should not be in my writing paper. I also can practice writing a thesis and just focus on writing an thesis before even writing my paper. these error affect my writing because it messes up my paper. the paper don't make as much since as it should. it may also bored or confuse the readers.

#assignment 10

I think the peer review process is okay. I like that our peer give their feed back on our papers. Tell us what's missing or should be add. Giving their opinion on how to make the paper better and spell checking it. I think the peer review process can be improve. It's the same questions with the same people. I don't know exactly what but we need a change. The strength of having a peer review is that two opinions is better than one. The weak part of peer review is that some paper do not always need other opinions to be good. My ideal peer review is having someone read over your paper and telling me my grammar mistakes. I do think peer review is best in the early. You can catch the mistakes and problems early on then write the whole paper then having to change half the paper. Larger groups are better because their are so many opinions to conisder. We have a whole class period which should be well enough time unless it's a 10 page paper.

#assignment 9 (free topic)

what I enjoyed most in my college experience are the students and the improvement. I made a few friends here and they seem very cool and act like they in college instead of high school. I also like college because the though of every time I come to school its just helping me in my future. The more I come the closer I am to my success. I get really happy when I pass a test or do something right because if I can do it in college I can do it anywhere. Now don't think I'm saying I love school which puts me on what I like least about college. I hate the papers we have to write. I knew we was going to have to write paper about 4 pages long but I didn't know that we was go have them all at the same time. I had three 4 page papers due earlier this week image my fun filled week. I don't think the teachers realize we have 4+ classes to keep up with. we get assignments and homework out of them classes to. I also don't like how serious this school is. I know college is a serious matter but everyone seem so stressed out and tired, like they just lost their best friend. Theirs not to many fun activity on campus for younger students. even though I'm not a big fan of college I know this what I have to do to get somewhere and make it in life so why not try to make the best of it..

Assignment #8

I picked to write about "Free speech off campus must be prtected" and before reading the article I totally agree. I said if you can't write or say what's on your mind off school grown or on your own personal page you can't do it no where. After reading the article I was totally against it. That was just something people shouldn't took lightly. People get mad when kids write on they page about killing or hurting someone and blame Facebook and others for not reporting it but also get made when you do report them. I choose this topic because in today's society theirs always a story in the newspapers on the news about children threading to kill themselves or someone else and putting it on Facebook.Tatro being a college student should of known better to put what she put on Facebook. She and her friend might have though it was funny but I'm happy someone reported it. I am happy because we don't know if she was joking or being honest about it. People need to learn not to put certain things on public website.

AssIgnment #7

As we get close to our midterm I can honestly say that I learned how to write a literacy narative for the first time and I also can say I have so much more to learn about writing.I learn to take my peers comments and put it toward making my paper better. I also learn how to edit someone else paper and leave comments on how they can improve their paper.Looking back at my very first post I do think I'm making a progress but a slow one.I do find this class helpful because It has me always thinking and helping me analyzing things.If I could change anything I would like to be able to pick a topic that's about something happening in today's society or pick my own topic.I wouldn't say my writing changed in a major way but I did improve my grammar mistake. I am able to catch some of mine and can easy catch someone else's mistake. I still have a couple of weeks left to go so I still have time to improve my writing skills and plan to. Their no sence in hiding when I am going to always have to write paper while in college.

        The ad I picked is target to young people that's are old enough to get in clubs and buy drinks. The purpose is to make it seem like drinking is cool and less complicated than a having a girlfriend and the tone is fun, excited and free. This ad is different than their other Jim beam ad but also similar in like a fun way. Most of these ad have young people having fun or at a party.
          However; the purpose of my literacy narrative is to get across to people that I always had a major problem in writing and though I can go on without it. My audience is my classroom peers and professor. I think the tone in my essay was sad and hatred but at the end my tone was excited.

Analyzing an Advertisement

   

• Purpose: By using young men, Jim beam and bold letters this ad is basely saying that alcohol is more easy to cope with than a girlfriend.
• Audience: I'm going to say the target audience our 21+ males. Basely males that's old enough to drink and go to clubs. The young men appear to be at a club holding shots or cups of alcohol makes it very clear that they have to be 21 or older.
• Genre: Most of Jim Bean ads look fun, exciting, and making it seem cool to be drinking Jim bean. This ad unlike the rest have a picture of people partying and drinking. Most of the other have surfers, wordy, a great deal of young woman in short shorts on the beach and etc. These ads make it seem like drinking is cool and leave you with no worries. Yes this is what I would expect for this ad, drinking may not be cool in some eyes but they do have to sell it.
• Tone: Fun filled, exited and encouraging/pressuring.
