Assignment #15- Final Reflection

Referring back to my very first wall post i only took the class because my adviser recommanded it to me to improve my writing skills. then when I reread my seventh wall post I was becoming a better writer and noticing my problems in writing and doing something about them. I feel I'm close to achieve my goal as becoming a better writer.I wanted to achieve my goal as becoming a good writer. I also feel I have a long ways to go before I can call myself a good writer. know I would change my goal because out of everything I learn I know at the end of the day I'm not finish with writing. if I keep at it I would probable be able to write a whole paper without help. My strength is my reason/ideas I come up with to support my topic. my weakness is my conclusion and my thesis. I need to work on them a little more.

Assignment #14- Planning for Revisions

I am going to rewrite the very last paper we wrote. the one when we the class had a chance to pick our own topic and write about it. the topic I pick is called "by going to college are you guaranteed the lifestyle you see in movies. My 3 strength is the reason/ideas I used in my paper. My conclusion I think I did a great job on, since I'm not very in ending a paper. my last strength is the way compare the topic to my personal experience. My 3 weakness is first I need to clarify/specific my topic question. secondly I need to work on my thesis a little more. make my thesis more clear so when someone read it they know right off the top that, that's my thesis. last I need to tell why my ideas/reason relate to my thesis.

assignment #13

I analysis this online article about "should college athletes students get paid". That a good topic and can easy be sum up in a few page.  I notice a lot of things she forgot to mention. She told both side of the argument. she told what why most people feel like college athlete shouldn't get paid and why people feel they should get paid but not once did she mention how she felt. she never picked a side to argument for or against. When i start writing my paper I am going to start off like she did by telling the affect part but then twist it up and put with side I agree with and details falling my opinion. She also didn't give details or hint to with side she agree with, she just kept on writing. she ended the paper by saying both side have good arguments. When writing my paper I will make sure I state my argument and conclude my paper with good reasons why you should come to my side of the argument.

assignment #12

  • Topic: is going to college as stressful as everyone make it seems?
  • Thesis: college is as stressful as everyone make it seem because its a whole different ball game than high school was and new environment.
  • compelling argument: I say college is stressful because everything so different than high school. you have to worry about work, financial aid, grades, attendance, books, money, 5-10 page papers, research projects, new environment, loans, life getting real and not even saying the things you have to do at home and/or work. This is compelling because it have most things college students have to worry about, things they stress over or should be stressing about.
  • weak argument: That its important you go to college because its hard to get a good paying job without college and make something better of your self. This is weak because i am considering or mentioning the other side of the argument. when i mention this i can also put out there that it cost a fortunate to go to college and if your don't spend your time wisely it would be a waste of your time and money.

assignment #11

Looking at my first 2 graded assignments in this class I see a free errors that keep repeating in my papers. One error I keep making is not using spell check when I get done writing my papers.sometimes it slip my mind and that i re read so many time I feel like I caught all my errors. The second error I make is I don't not write in complete sentences most of the time. I write a lot of fragment and don't catch them because at the time they sound so right, like they belong their. Another error I make is get off the subject. I can be writing about animals then by the end of the paper in on an whole different subject. I turn any paper very personal. I give a million personal examples and stories about how the subject relates to me or someone I know. I am not saying personal experience isn't good. Last but not least I seem to always make this error no matter what I'm writing about. I never can write an correct thesis. No matter what the topic is or how much information I look up writing an thesis statement I very challenging to me.
Their are ways to avoid/solve these problem. I can use spell check more offend or get a few people besides my professor and peer to read over my paper a few times. Stop being in a rush or waiting later to do my paper. Theirs not to many way to avoid fragments but practices writing in complete sentences. To avoid get off topic i can outlet my reading or research with the main topics that should and should not be in my writing paper. I also can practice writing a thesis and just focus on writing an thesis before even writing my paper. these error affect my writing because it messes up my paper. the paper don't make as much since as it should. it may also bored or confuse the readers.

#assignment 10

I think the peer review process is okay. I like that our peer give their feed back on our papers. Tell us what's missing or should be add. Giving their opinion on how to make the paper better and spell checking it. I think the peer review process can be improve. It's the same questions with the same people. I don't know exactly what but we need a change. The strength of having a peer review is that two opinions is better than one. The weak part of peer review is that some paper do not always need other opinions to be good. My ideal peer review is having someone read over your paper and telling me my grammar mistakes. I do think peer review is best in the early. You can catch the mistakes and problems early on then write the whole paper then having to change half the paper. Larger groups are better because their are so many opinions to conisder. We have a whole class period which should be well enough time unless it's a 10 page paper.

#assignment 9 (free topic)

what I enjoyed most in my college experience are the students and the improvement. I made a few friends here and they seem very cool and act like they in college instead of high school. I also like college because the though of every time I come to school its just helping me in my future. The more I come the closer I am to my success. I get really happy when I pass a test or do something right because if I can do it in college I can do it anywhere. Now don't think I'm saying I love school which puts me on what I like least about college. I hate the papers we have to write. I knew we was going to have to write paper about 4 pages long but I didn't know that we was go have them all at the same time. I had three 4 page papers due earlier this week image my fun filled week. I don't think the teachers realize we have 4+ classes to keep up with. we get assignments and homework out of them classes to. I also don't like how serious this school is. I know college is a serious matter but everyone seem so stressed out and tired, like they just lost their best friend. Theirs not to many fun activity on campus for younger students. even though I'm not a big fan of college I know this what I have to do to get somewhere and make it in life so why not try to make the best of it..
